Updates: Week of January 15, 2023

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people. 1 Timothy 2:1

100 Pairs & Prayers for Ukraine. We are in the home stretch of our wool sock/prayer drive for Ukraine! We have the donations for the socks but need more prayers! Our Ukrainian visitors before the holidays noted how powerful the encouragement can be for the soldiers when they receive a prayer from caring people abroad. Please take a few minutes during our fellowship hour to draft a short prayer or two for the Ukraine. Victoria Levin plans to translate all our prayers into Ukrainian on Sunday afternoon and will help us ship the prayers and pairs to the Ukraine this coming week. With gratitude for your help and support.

Sunday morning refreshments: We are grateful for the cadre of folks who volunteer to bring refreshments for us all to enjoy in a time for fellowship after our Sunday morning services. There is a sign-up sheet located on one of the bulletin boards by the entrance to Trumbull Hall. Take a look next time you’re there and, if you see an open slot on a Sunday that’s convenient for you, please consider filling in your name and contributing to this tasty aspect of our ministry! Snacks can be plain or fancy, home-made or storebought. Drinks are provided.

Flowers on the Altar: The Flower Committee invites anyone who would like to contribute toward the flowers that beautify our church each week to please put a check in the offering plate and write “For flowers” on the memo line. If you prefer to give cash, include a note with it. Or you can give your contribution to a member of the Flower Committee: Susan Johnson or Rhonda Fenton.

Bible studies:  We offer two different weekly Bible studies: Wednesday mornings at 10 am and before church on Sunday morning at 9 am. Both studies are held in Trumbull Hall. We look forward to seeing you at one or both! No prior experience needed – just an eagerness to spend some time reading, reflecting, and discussing God’s Word with like-minded friends.

“Meal Train” for Becky Luce:  There’s an opportunity for folks to provide some help for our sister in Christ Becky Luce in the form of a meals ministry.  Robin Henry shared a link to sign up via Meal Train.  Contact the church office or Pastor Chris for the link.
