Week of June 29, 2025 – Hanover Center Old Timers Fair is Saturday

[Moses said to God] And now, please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised, saying, ‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’ Please pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”

Then the Lord said, “I have pardoned, according to your word.  But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord,  none of the men who have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have put me to the test these ten times and have not obeyed my voice, shall see the land that I swore to give to their fathers. And none of those who despised me shall see it.  But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it.  Now, since the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwell in the valleys, turn tomorrow and set out for the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.”

 – Numbers 14:17-25 (ESV)

Vision Sunday: Thanks to all who participated in last Sunday's Vision discussions (and shared in an excellent potluck luncheon)! We are embarking on what will likely be a fascinating journey, secure in the knowledge that the Holy Spirit will work in and through us to identify our next shepherd (literally, pastor) and set the course for our future. We thank God for our opportunity to serve as part of Christ's body here on earth, and for our ministry in the Upper Valley and far, far beyond.
Message from the Missions Committee:  The Missions Committee is pleased to thank the congregation for your support, interest, and generous contributions to our supported ministries. Together they fill varied and vital roles in advancing Christ's kingdom by caring for those in spiritual, physical, and social need in New Hampshire and around the world. We have seen them in action personally and virtually and have had the opportunity of introducing them to the church. We seek your continued support, your ideas for improvement in our committee operations, suggestions for ministries to consider for support, and stand ready to welcome anyone who might wish to become involved with our team. Blessings to you all.
Internet security - email: One of our members recently received an email purportedly sent by Pastor Chris which was, in fact, not from Pastor Chris. Fortunately, the member quickly became suspicious based on the vague content of the message and no harm was done, but these events are always unnerving. This particular occurrence gives us a good opportunity to be very careful of any email your receive from our church. If you receive an email purporting to be from our church office or pastor, be sure to check the actual sender's address (which may differ from the address displayed by your email app). You have any concerns about the genuineness of an email from the church, don't reply to that email but instead email the church office or pastor and ask if the email in question is legitimate. Also, do NOT open any attachment unless you're sure that it is from a legitimate source. If anything seems unusual about any email you receive, it's usually best to assume it is not authentic and may be an attempt to obtain personal information from you.
Summer Schedule:  With Pastor Chris's departure at the end of July, our summer schedule this year is still in the planning stage.  We will be staying in Etna for the month of July this year!  For updates, be sure to check these weekly email updates, or check the church website regularly over the next few weeks.   We apologize for the delay in publishing the final schedule, and we thank you for your patience.
Website and Livestream changes:  Our website will soon be changing!  With a new website host (provider), we're also planning to change our livestream host as well.  Fear not!  We'll let you know of any changes that you'll have to make before any change is made!  Check these weekly updates regularly for more information.

Bible Discussions - Spend some time in the Word with friends:
Our Sunday morning Bible discussion group is currently reading and discussing John's first epistle (1 John).  Our Wednesday morning Bible discussion group meets weekly at 10 am in Trumbull Hall to talk (usually!) about Sunday's Scripture reading and sermon.
Our Bible discussions are lively, thought-provoking, and delightfully Spirit-led. They also offer coffee and snacks! Please join us whenever you are able to do so. No previous experience required!
