To Build a Life
How do we build a life of eternal consequence? This powerful message challenges us to shift our focus from how we'll be remembered after death to how we're building towards eternity. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 3:10-23, we're reminded that Jesus Christ is the only foundation worth building upon. Everything else - success, relationships, worldly ideas of the 'good life' - is ultimately unstable. As we construct our lives on this unshakeable foundation, we're called to use materials that will endure: faith, love, and obedience. The imagery of gold, silver, and precious stones versus wood, hay, and straw invites us to discern between eternal investments and temporary fixes. Are we living with the 'day of Christ' in mind, when our lives will be revealed for what they truly are? This message urges us to leverage our time, relationships, and opportunities for eternal impact, challenging us to present our lives as a worthy offering to Christ.
