Week of July 9, 2023

Summer Bible Discussions:  Our two weekly Bible studies continue this summer. Join us before church on Sunday mornings in the vestry at Hanover Center from 9 to 9:45 am for a discussion of the book of Esther.

Our Wednesday morning Bible study group, discussing Bible passages from and related to the previous Sunday’s message, also continues to meet on Wednesday mornings at 10 am in Trumbull Hall at the Etna church. You can also join us “live” via Zoom for the Wednesday morning discussions. Please contact Pastor Chris or the church office to get the Zoom link.
Mission Updates:
Rise Again is a local/regional outreach ministry that our church family supports. The quarterly Rise Again newsletter is now available. Click here to read it.  The Missions Committee thanks the Inter-Church Council for raising the possibility of passing some of our "surplus" hymnals along to Rise Again.  Thirty hymnals were donated to Rise Again, who accepted them gratefully and have passed them along to the Chapel at NH Correctional Facility for Women.  The prison's chapel had previously had no hymnals, so this is a very welcome development!

The July missions update from the Southerlands in Curaçao is also available.  You may read it by clicking here

LISTEN update: Many thanks to our volunteers this past Tuesday for preparing and serving a meal to the guests at LISTEN’s community dinner in White River Junction! This is a valuable and rewarding ministry opportunity for a vital service to the Upper Valley community. We provide volunteers on a monthly basis. Contact Laurie Wadsworth to volunteer or if you’d simply like to know more!
Old Timers Fair update: The proceeds from this year’s Old Timers Fair in Hanover Center amounted to over $10,100! Many thanks to all who donated time, talents, and treasures, and of course also to all who braved the weather, attended the fair, and had a great time!
Crafting Together: It’s July (for those of you keeping score at home), so it’s time for the next meeting of the crafters! This fellowship group meets on Monday, July 10 at 1 pm in Trumbull Hall. Bring a craft and enjoy the company of others while you knit, sew, or pursue some other way of making things.
Community goings on: The Mill Band will be performing this Saturday, July 8 @ 6 pm in Trumbull Hall. Join your neighbors and friends for some terrific family entertainment as the Mill Band plays old country, bluegrass, and gospel music! Free and open to the public, with no registration necessary.
Our own Ken Pelton is a member of this well-known local group.
