Week of April 21, 2024

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
Bible Study Opportunities:   We offer a weekday Bible discussion on Wednesday mornings at 10 am in Trumbull Hall. Please join us for coffee, baked goods, and lively discussions of Scripture. All are welcome, no previous experience required!

Having just wrapped up our chapter by chapter discussions on Matthew’s gospel, we are taking a brief pause to decide what our next topic will be.  We're taking a couple of weeks to think, pray and plan for our next study, with a goal to meet again as a group at 9 am on Sunday May 5th to begin the next Sunday morning Bible study topic.  Please share your thoughts and questions with Pastor Chris or Mark Hardy, either "live" or via email.

We’re grateful to all who attend our Bible studies/discussions on Sundays and Wednesdays! We thank God for His gift to us of the Scriptures and for peoples’ eagerness to read, think, learn, and to apply the timeless lessons they hold to our own lives and the times in which we live.
Missions - Stand With Me update:  Dr. Scott Mitchell and Mr. Robert Mitchell of Stand With Me (standing frames for children with cerebral palsy) have informed the Missions Committee that our church's recent donation will result in 15 children receiving frames. The frames allow the children to stand for designated periods to enhance their muscle strength, circulatory system adaptation to gravity, bone density, feeding, functional use of hands and arms, and perspective on their surroundings. They do indeed transform lives. Stand With Me makes tangible the love of Christ. We are so pleased that your contributions have made possible a progressively increasing level of support.
Missions - update from the Southerlands:  We've received the April newsletter from the Southerlands (missionaries to Curaçao). You can read it by clicking here.
Joining Journeys: If you consider this church family your home church but haven’t yet made it official, you're invited to an upcoming information meeting on Sunday, April 28, right after the morning service. Pastor Chris would love to share with you the journey our church is on and what membership means, as well as answer any questions you might have.
Spring Rummage Sale: Becky LaHaye reports that this spring's Rummage Sale took in $4,165.81 from our two-day event. Many thanks to everyone who did their part to make this such a success! Becky also shared a photo taken by Pastor Chris Green just before the doors were opened on Friday for the Spring Rummage Sale.
Alpha Course concludes this Sunday April 21 at 6:30 pm: Alpha is a night of eating and group discussion. We look at some of the big questions of life, and the answers that the Christian faith gives to those questions. It's completely free, and there's no pressure to come back. There are two more weekly meetings for this round of Alpha. The topic of the final session (April 21) is “What about the church?

If you're still curious -- and we do continue to urge you to Stay Curious! -- please join us this week, even if you couldn't be there last week. We'd all love to see you at Alpha!
