Week of May 19, 2024 - Pentecost

“And it shall come to pass afterward,
    that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
    your old men shall dream dreams,
    and your young men shall see visions.
Even on the male and female servants
    in those days I will pour out my Spirit.
“And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
- Joel 2:28-32 (ESV)
Ask Anything with Pastor Chris: Being a person of faith doesn’t mean you don’t have questions.  And let’s face it, middle- and high-school students are filled with big questions. All middle school and high school students are invited to come hang out at the church with Pastor Chris on Wednesday, May 29, at 6 pm and bring your questions with you. He doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but he’ll share from his knowledge of the Bible and his own experience. You can send your questions ahead of time via email or text them to Pastor Chris.
Hanover Center Old Timers’ Fair - It’s back! The full fair is back on Saturday, June 29. For those who are new to the neighborhood, this is a long-standing (more than 50 years), small-town fair that happens on the common in Hanover Center. There is food, an ox pull, games for kids, book sale, white elephant sale, and parade. The night will end with a special musical guest, Brooks Hubbard. Funds raised from this event support the historic Hanover Center Church, and the spirit of community engendered is priceless. Please join the fun! For more information, visit https://www.oldtimersfair.com/.
Bible Study Opportunities:   Our church offers two weekly opportunities for study and discussion of the Scriptures.  Join us on Sunday mornings at 9 am (before our worship service) in Trumbull Hall for a chapter-by-chapter study of the book of Ruth.  We also offer a weekday Bible discussion, expanding on the Scripture covered in the previous Sunday's sermon, on Wednesday mornings at 10 am in Trumbull Hall.
In either case, please join us for coffee, baked goods, and lively discussions of Scripture. All are welcome, no previous experience required!
[Jesus said] “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.  He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.  All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me.” - John 16:12-16 (ESV)
