Week of August 27, 2023

Thank you: Our sincere thanks to guest preacher Scott Lambert (perhaps better known in Etna and Hanover Center as Isaac Lambert's dad or Aden Lambert's grandfather!)  for his message A Church on Mission and Adventure — lessons from Paul's experience in preaching the Gospel in Athens which can be applied to sharing the Gospel in today's culture.  You may watch his message by clicking here.
We again apologize for bandwidth issues which led to some video and audio glitches in the video capture.   Improvements to our video stream will be coming soon!
Bible Study Schedule: Our Sunday morning Bible discussion on the Old Testament book of Esther wraps up on August 27 at 9 am in the vestry at the Hanover Center church.  Watch our weekly updates for the next Sunday morning study topic and start date.
Our weekday Bible study meets at 10 am on Wednesday mornings  in Trumbull Hall at the Etna church.  The Wednesday discussions are based on the previous Sunday morning's sermon.
In both cases, we offer snacks, coffee, and scintillating discussion.  Please join us if you can!
Alpha is nigh:  Alpha is a night of eating and group discussion. We look at some of the big questions of life, the answers that the Christian faith gives to those questions, and then everyone is invited to share their own thoughts in a safe and judgement-free space. You're invited, no matter your background or beliefs. It's completely free and there's no pressure to come back.

Mondays @ 6:30 pm
Trumbull Hall in Etna

LISTEN dinners: There will be no dinner on our team's regularly scheduled date of Sept. 4, since it is Labor Day. LISTEN's dinner coordinator, Larry, has given us some other dates when they need help, so we will probably be cooking and serving either Tues. or Thurs. the week of Sept. 11. We'll keep you posted! If you'd like to join our team, or just wonder what this is all about, contact Laurie Wadsworth.

Larry is also in need of folks who could help with dining room set up and clean up, as well as greeting the diners, on every Friday evening in September. This duty offers the opportunity to interact with the diners. Let Laurie know if you'd be interested in this duty, even just once, from about 4:00-5:45 pm.
SUNDAY MORNING REFRESHMENT SIGN-UP:  Have you ever wondered how the refreshments appear for the coffee hour after worship?  It’s done by members of the congregation who have signed up to host the refreshment hour.  If you would like to host, please sign up on the form on the bulletin board in Etna between the sanctuary and Trumbull Hall.  The refreshments can be almost anything:  cake, cookies, cheese and crackers, veggies, fruit, muffins, brownies.  Plan on refreshments for about 75 people.  The church provides the coffee and juice.  Thank you!
