Week of November 17, 2024

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. – Romans 5:1-4 (NIV)

Missions Committee Update:  The committee reports that they've received a new update from Timothy Pillsbury of CUVox (at Dartmouth). To read the update, simply click here.
THANKSGIVING OUTREACH PROJECT: As it has been our church family tradition for approximately 100 years, we will again fill "Thanksgiving Cheer Bags" with food, notes and lots of love. They will be delivered to neighbors, friends, and those in care facilities. This project will be funded by donations that were received at the Summer Band Concert.
If you would like to help deliver etc. please talk to Maxine Wallace or Norma Pelton.

Also, on Sunday, November 24, we invite everyone to bring non-perishable items for the Lebanon Listen Food Pantry. Let’s share our blessings with others.
Volunteering Opportunities:  "Many hands make light work"!  We are looking for some people to help out in a couple of areas supporting our Sunday morning ministry.  As Pastor Chris likes to say, our second service each Sunday morning convenes at about 11 am in Trumbull Hall, where we gather for snacks, coffee, and fellowship.  There is a sign-up sheet to provide refreshments (snacks) on Sunday mornings. You're welcome to bring home made or store-bought treats, as you prefer.   If you have any questions, ask Susan Johnson or Becky LaHaye.
We also have a weekly signup for people to bring flowers to help beautify the sanctuary on Sunday mornings.  See Susan Johnson if you have any questions.
Alpha for Autumn:   Curious about spirituality, faith, and the big questions of life? Alpha is meant for you! Join us on Wednesday, November 20, at 6:30 pm in Etna or online at 7 pm for the eighth and final session of Alpha for this autumn. All are welcome; share this invitation with your friends, no matter where they be.  Click here for more information and to register.
Bible Discussions:   We offer two weekly opportunities to spend time with the Scriptures and with friends! On Wednesday mornings at 10 am in Trumbull Hall (Etna), join Pastor Chris for deep and lively discussions sparked by the previous Sunday's sermon.
On Sunday mornings at 9 am (also in Trumbull Hall), we're reading and discussing Hebrews. This week we'll be looking at Chapter 11. This is the famous "Faith Chapter" of this encouraging book, originally shared with early Christians, but a vital exhortation for us to this day.
No previous Bible study experience required in either case. Interesting and stimulating conversation is guaranteed. Both discussion series include coffee and time slot-appropriate snacks.  We look forward to seeing you at either or both!

Yes, I am confirming my covenant with you. Never again will floodwaters kill all living creatures; never again will a flood destroy the earth.”
Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.  –
Genesis 9:11-13 (NLT)
