Week of November 19, 2023

Thanksgiving Eve Service:  Our annual Thanksgiving Eve Service is happening on Wednesday, November 22nd, at 7 pm at the Hanover Center Church. This is always a lovely evening where we gather to give thanks for all the ways in which we have been blessed. It's a special time for our community and we can't wait to see you there!
Church Youth Sponsoring Spaghetti Supper:  Our church youth will be putting on a spaghetti dinner for the public, and of course all church members and attenders.  The dinner will be this Saturday November 18, from 5 to 7 pm.  Suggested donation is $15.   Questions?  Contact Laura LaHaye.  We hope to see you Saturday evening!
Thanksgiving Cheer:  Norma Pelton reports that we are preparing our “Thanksgiving Cheer Baskets".   This is a “Christians in Action” project which our church family has undetaken for many, many, years.  If you would like to help please talk with Maxine or Norma. If you would like to help financially, please indicate “Cheer Baskets” on your donation.  Thank you all!
Special Service Offerings:  Our Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve services are very special times. Our church family's tradition is for offerings received at those two services to be donated to one or more deserving local/regional organizations to support their work and ministry in the region. Last week the Inter-Church Council decided that the offerings from this year's upcoming Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve services will be pooled, divided equally, and given to the Grafton County Senior Citizens Council for their Meals on Wheels program and to West Central Behavioral Health for mental health and suicide prevention.  We thank you all for your generousity in support of the Church's ministry and also these other worthy organizations' work in the Upper Valley.
Missions Committee:  We received an update from Carrie Pollack of Cru Military, including a link to their third quarter report (see link below).  Here are some excerpts from Carrie's email:

I will share [the blessings you extended to Capt. R and family] with  Jenica when we have our Zoom meeting on Monday. Also, I did share with our Ministry Advancement Team at our meeting today - made their hearts happy to hear from you too!
...
[Also, a] little update on the package from our Etna Ladies for Jenica. I have been seeking and waiting for a connection from the US to Hungary to transport this package. Turns out, Jenica's brother-in-law from Hungary is visiting in the US AND just HAPPENS to be staying about an hour away from me!!! We are making plans to connect and he will deliver the package to Jenica when he returns home in a couple of weeks. God is just SO GOOD!!!
Also, I have our latest Impact publication to share with you.

CRU MILITARY IMPACT 3rd QUARTER
I believe that is all for this red hot moment.  So much thankfulness for you [Ralph and the Committee], Karen and our Etna Family ... more than words can accurately portray.  I pray that The Lord translates all this to your heart.
[Carrie]
